What a shame on me today

I felt so embarrassed this day. I was scheduled to renew my passport this day, October 4 at 1:00-2:00 in the afternoon. I applied for the renewal of my passport on line on Sunday October 2. That date is available, and I was told to be in the DFA office 30 minutes before the schedule .
I was so restless while in school. My class started from 7:30 and ended 12 noon. What I did I dismiss them at 11:30, eat my lunch and proceed to DFA located at Atrium Ayala Mall, 3rd floor. It was done earlier. There were numerous applicants, but I was the first to be called for my appointment is 1:00 ; they look at me so curiously why overtake them
I have done all transactions for a renewal of passport at 1:30.
. Then I left the counter to go to the exit. The office is walled with crystal glass, seems void. When I reached the thought to be exit door, a man stood up and I thought he wanted to enter, but I noticed he remained standing.
My friends here, Oh, sorry to myself, I thought that was the door I walked straightly and bumped myself on the glass
, What a shame that I wanted to run . Shame, shame on me. I never told anyone my shame, only you all here.

Those glass doors and partitions should have stickers that give instuctions or indicate that it's glass, this would prevent accidents.

@cacay1 no need to be ashamed, it's the contractor's or the landowmers responsibility to to keep there premises safe, putting stickers or paint or any sign should be sop, such accidents are not uncommon.

@louievill, That is a very strong suggestion. DFA keeps on transferring their office. This time at Atrium Ayala Mall in the 3rd floor. I was lost, you know Ayala is so big mall. I keep on riding the escalator and keep asking on guards until I found the place. I told the guard on duty to label the glass in sharp red PASS THIS WAY with big arrow. I never told me that accident, I was so ashamed of myself. So disgusting episode, lol.

I thought you have to come back in February next year for the renewal of your passport. Is there any new development on that? Are you allowed to renew your passport now earlier than February? My younger daughter has arrived home from NZ. The older one will arrive 2 weeks later.

@sunrisefan , I was told by my niece who is in London that if travel overseas, the passport renewal must be done 6 months before the expiry, and my passport will expired mach 17, and I was told to submit/ forward my passport in January for they are going to transfer the remaining months visa onto the new passport. We are going to renew my work visa application when I am already there in Auckland.
I am so happy for you having your children back home. My warm regards to all of you!!

@cacay1 Thanks Ms. Erly and I'm happy too that you've finally solved your problem regarding your passport's expiry and you don't have to be spending money to come home in February just to renew your passport. Have a safe trip to NZ later this month!

I did that in a restaurant in Spain in 1978 and knocked myself unconscious - the waiters who had closed the french window I had walked through just before then gave me a free meal - I was unhurt

As long as you didn't get hurt that is all that matters it is something most of us have done at one time or another.

No, don't feel ashamed about it; it is their fault, they should put a sign or marking on the glass wall so people won't bump into it.

i bet there were other applicants before you and there will be others after you who will make the same mistake while they're there so maybe they should start putting signs and stickers to warn and guide applicants where to go and not to go.

@hereandthere , That is also what I am thinking about, there might be many who experience the same as mine.Your idea is so strong to put stickers to warn the applicants. My goodness I could still hear the sound of myself, my forehead bumped painfully. My forehead has black spot this time. It only appeared clearly this morning here.My students wondered why?

@cacay1 you should have put an ice pack on it when you got home. then cover it with concealer or bb cream before leaving the house. so what did you tell your students when they asked about that bruise on your forehead?
