Here's A Word. Not so New!

Especially, to most persons who live in the United States, this word is not new. We hear if quite often, but do we really know what it means? I knew the concept of what it meant, but didn’t really know what it meant in reality. The 48 states that make up the land mass below Canada are called the CONTIGUOUS states. I understood that to mean that they were all together in one place, so to speak. Alaska and Hawaii are not a part of the contiguous states, because they do not TOUCH another state. So the word contiguous means “touching” or “in contact with” or “next to.” It can also mean “actual contact with” or “adjacent to” So, I would imagine that this word could also apply to other situations, other than just the United States. For instance: Row houses are contiguous. Some mountain ranges and properties can also be said to be contiguous. Like I said, it’s not a NEW word, but now I have a better understanding of the word. What do you think?

Row houses are interesting also. These particular ones were in London I believe, but similar ones are found in San Francisco and Philadelphia.
