Manditory Evacuations Starting...

They are starting evacuations now. In Jacksonville Beach, and all of
Duval County in the beaches area, there is voluntary order today. However, all of St. Johns County which includes Ponte Vedra Beach...has a mandatory evacuation that starts tomorrow at 6 am.
So folks... We are down to the wire now. If the Weather Channel comes to your town, you know it is going to be bad. They don't come just for a sprinkle of rain.
I am leaving in a couple of hours. I am not waiting and getting stuck in all that traffic.
Tomorrow is going to be manditory, so why wait??? St. Johns County is next door to us, so why would we think there would not be a manditory evacuation for us too???
The gas pumps have lines up their ying yang, and some stations at the beaches have already run out. I am glad I got up early this morning, and got my gas then. The lines were not that bad.
I hope no one decides to ride this out. I've known too many people who have lost their lives, because they thought they could ride it out.
Oh well... Need to finish getting my car loaded.

Do you have somewhere to go? This sort of thing doesn't happen too often in Australia so I'm finding it very interesting. I hope you and yours and your property will be safe.

??? I'm confused??? How is a manditory evacuation, because a hurricane is coming, that could cause catastrophic damage, a nice thought????

yeah, this would have been one of those things that people needed to just go, lives once lost cannot be just rebuilt, like a home
