Two Words: Quite the Opposite

Which word would best describe you, according to your experiences so far in your life? Do you find that it depends on the circumstances in which you find yourself, or are you always of the same mind when it comes to difficult situations?
Here are the TWO WORDS:
CAPITULATE: Which means to give up, OR to surrender.
Or are you INDOMITABLE? This word means unconquerable. That is, you NEVER give up.
I have a friend who has invited her daughter with three children to live with her, after the break-up of her daughter’s marriage. My friend visits me about once a week, and enjoys getting away from the noise and rowdiness of her grandchildren, she said.
Last week she said something that I had never heard before. I asked her if she had any part in disciplining the children and she said. “No, I gave up. It’s not my circus and they are not my monkeys.”
Have you ever heard that expression before?

I know I won't forget it. When she first said it, I said, "What did you say?" And she repeated it and I laughed. I said "I've never heard that expression before." She was surprised.

Nope never heard it but I think she has the wrong attitude because every little bit helps when it comes to disciplining children and she certainly doesn't want things to get out of hand.

The problem is though that her daughter doesn't WANT her to say anything to her children. I think that I would have a talk with her, if it were my daughter and MY house.

I've never heard that. Our children know we don't back off when it comes to disciplining our grandkids. Of course, we try to let the parents handle it if they're here.

I think I am like most people in being a combination. It depends on the situation.

I agree with you. It really DOES depend on the situation.
