Planning for the Christmas Celebration

Well, it is Sunday evening almost 9 when I am writing this discussion. Weekend is almost over. It seems that time here in my home country is faster than in my adopted country Germany. I was busy this weekend with my other writing sites and having a family bonding in the afternoon before tending to my garden work. Besides that, my bathroom sink was fixed by my brother and my brother-in-law. The faucet was not working anymore. Now it is fine. As 3 of my siblings were here and some of their family members, we were talking about our Christmas celebration this year. The kids want to have a Christmas program. We will be having a kids fashion show with recycled materials to wear as dresses. I will be creative again. We will be creating dresses for the kids out of plastic bags and old clothes. I am looking forward to this celebration. The kids are already excited and they started watching you tube diy dresses. Then, they will dance with these dresses. I told the kids to better dance the Hola dance or any Hawaiian dance instead of hip hop. They will think about it. Do you have any plans for Christmas? Anyway, have a blessed new week fellow Mylotters. Photo : Halo-halo from our family bonding.

I haven't even thought about it yet. We need to get through Halloween and Thanksgiving first.

Yes, so true. We don't celebrate Halloween and Thanksgiving here but we celebrate the All Saints Day and All Souls Day @NJChicaa. Thanks for your visit.

@thelme55 We don't celebrate because not everyone in our blended family are celebrating it .. We created our own tradition that we celebrate at the beginning of the year when all the all other celebrations are over..

I don't know how you find the time to do everything you do! I don't celebrate Christmas, so I'll be free as a bird in Florida, having dinner and going to the movies with friends.

I always find the time of the things I wanted to do @DianneN but my writing sites will suffer from it.

I haven't started thinking about Christmas yet. I have my daughters' birthdays over the next couple of months plus my two nieces, so I usually wait until all the birthdays are out of the way before I start to think about Christmas. But I am making notes of any nice looking recipes I find, which could be made over the festive season and jotting down gift ideas now and again.

I can understand your excitement for your Christmas party . I think it's because it's seldom that you are here to celebrate Christmas with your sibling , your father and your relatives , so you really have to plan for it to be worth remembering when you go back to Germany already .

Did you make the halo-halo? It looks so good... Oh, the Christmas plans sound so festive... It seems your large extended family know how to celebrate...

We usually do the same thing every year, 4 pm Mass on Christmas eve, my daughter and family at my house for gifts and food. Christmas day I cook a meal for all of my children, Prime Rib and all the trimmings.

That halo-halo uggghhh. Your family Christmas celebration sounds exciting. I guess,in my family, we will have a simple celebration. My relatives live in Visayas region.Ilo-ilo in my mother's side and Romblon in my father's side. I have cousins in Pasay but they just drop by before or after Christmas. Some of our relatives in Manila have joined our Creator so we really have few relatives. I only have one older brother.Traditionally,we gather at my parents' house for lunch and then we go out for dinner. In the evening,Christmas eve,we hear mass.
