Feeling Guilty - Bought my nephew a pajama set, but nothing for my niece!

For the past 3 years, I have been used to spoiling my nephew! Now that I have a niece, she was just born last month - I feel guilty when I buy stuff for my nephew and nothing for my niece! I have a $5 Kohl's cash that expires tomorrow and the nearest Kohl's is 15 minutes away. I am not going to drive there just to buy something so I browsed online. My nephew is a huge fan of Thomas the Train (who isn't at the age of 3) and I saw a 4 piece Pajama Set that I knew he would love! So I got that for him & paid the difference. But ... I didn't get anything for my niece! But, I did buy her gifts last month and my nephew not so much! I will later buy the both of them equally when I start Christmas shopping.

She doesn't know the difference right now but be careful once she gets older to buy equally or she will feel left out. I tell my kids if we don't have enough of something for all of them then no one gets.

I think she's still too young at this point of time but you'd better give them equal treatment once she starts to understand, lol!~You wouldn't want jelousy to rear it's ugly head

She is too young to know the difference, for now it doesn't matter, later well then you need to be fair. I just got a 30% coupon from Kohls so I am going shopping myself. lol

Hehe yes! Thanks! I did end up buying her some stuff. That's a good deal you got 30% and you can stack it with other deals/coupons too if you get any more. :)

If she's only a month old, I'm sure she's not too worried about it.

A newborn is not going to know the differences but you could buy equally from now on to make you feel better.

Looks like you've got the gift giving plan down to even out. She is still a little tiny thing who wouldn't really notice much anyway. I feel bad not being able to afford anything on my own for my son's bday or my hubby's bday next month but ya know being a college student and mom with no job doesn't give me much choice.

Yes, she won't notice - but she will know when she gets older that I love her. Gifts aren't as important as long as you have each other! You guys can find fun things to do in your area for free and still have a great time. :) Happy early birthday to your son / husband.
