I Am Just Doing My Job

The nephew of my lady boss is just new to the job . Though , he has been with an affiliate before where I was also assigned many years ago. Thus , I know that he was discovered to be using the money intended for the salaries of workers and was immediately terminated as ordered by our lady boss . Now , he was hired in our office for this new job, after how many years that he worked at a far place , to see if he changed . Thus , when I had an audit finding that he was returning the excesses of the cash advances for purchasing supplies way beyond the 2 day period for liquidation , she immediately called him on the phone and reprimanded him . So , that day , even if I haven’t given my audit findings to our HR Officer for their proper disciplinary action , the nephew has already submitted an explanation . Now , he always would liquidate the money for the purchases of supplies , after he did the purchase . Wow ! I have to report the improvement to my boss and she was glad . I am just doing my job and my job doesn’t consider if you are related to the boss .

True . But this lady boss of ours can again terminate him at the hint of him misusing the company's money . He was just given the second chance so he better make good this time .

I hope he doesn't screw up the second chance he was given... not many people would get that... he's lucky to get one, probably because he's related to the boss...

Some people are hard to work with and in his case, maybe he thinks things will be easier because he is related to high ups.

He knows actually that our lady boss his auntie can terminate him . Actually , he was doing it twice already but i let it pass since i am just trying to test him if he will do it the third time and they are of minimal amount . But this time , i have to step in and do what i have to do . He was actually scared , specially when our lady boss called him on his mobile and reprimanded him .

@cacay1 Like i said , since that time i submitted an audit finding about what he is doing and HRD has given him a written warning that should it happen again , he will receive a termination already . Now , he seemed afraid of me , though we remain cordial with each other .

No , relations at the office should not be taken into consideration . The boss knows that , because it was she who told me to keep watch on his nephew if he is doing well or doing hanky panky .

@allen0187 She knows that . She said she's just giving him a chance and to see if he changed . She is secure that i will always keep a close watch that he does things properly - no hanky panky because if he does , he can be immediately terminated like what she did before to him .

Really . It's sad when you know that some employees mishandles the company money . But we have to do what we have to do as a good employee - report , so it could be investigated further , as part of the due process.

Actually , this is his first chance in this company . What he did before was in another affiliate company , of which our lady boss is their boss . So here we are giving him the first chance . Next time , he can be terminated already . He now liquidates the same day when there is 1 3 day period to do it after the purchase .

That is true . Though here at the office , we follow a code of ethics , wherein there is a first offense and its corresponding sanction and second offense etc. Although , when it comes to money , the company can terminate depending as to how big was misused . In his case , he was able to return the money but after a long time and our policy is it has to be returned if there is an excess within the 3 day period upon the purchase of the items the company told him to purchase.

@Happy2BeMe When the people you have an audit finding gets angry at you . But then , so far for me , they don't do that . They accept their mistake because it's true .
