Last night I was writing about movies I had seen several times. And today I woke up with Gone in the wind in my mind.
My mother had gone to watch it years ago and she took me as soon as I could understnd it. I did not understand the secesuion war (it was not my war after all). But I could understand the romance of it and I had my preferences for the male characters.
I also wished at that time the beautiful dresses and those stairways at the begining of the story.
Time went by, I understood the history behing it and I took my girls to watch it.
Time goes by and there are several classics that are not shown anywhere anymore. They help us understand history and they add the petit hostoire that helps us understand how each character was touched by a big problem. Casablanca is another such picture and it is difficult to find and watch.
Have you seen it?

I took my daughter and then my granddaughter to watch it. But now it is not in the cinema anymore and that epic movie deserves a bigger screen.

It´s a movie children should watch as part of their history classes.

@marguicha,Recently I was asking for the names of some classic Hollywood movies.Gone with the wind and Casablanca were among the films suggested.I found it difficult to find a good copy of Casablanca online.I found one,but it takes so much time to load.May be you could try it.
Watch Casablanca (1942) - In Casablanca, Morocco in December 1941, a cynical American expatriate meets a former lover, with unforeseen complications.

Perhaps Casablanca is difficult to see in Chile but quite easy in the US.

It was easy in the times of the Blockbuster chain. Now it is not so easy.

At first, I watched the love story between scarlet and rhett Butler. But when I grew up, I gould understand how well depicted was the war between the north and the south.

@ms1864 A good movie and a good movie is like that. You can see different things depending on when you watch or read it.

I wonder if some of my other favorites are still modern enough. I watched with pleasure a couple of years ago Vertigo and Dirty dancing. They are still perfect in their genre.

@jennyjoy I think that Vertigo is the best of Hitchcock´s movies.
