After God created Adam and Eve and tossed them out of the Garden of Eden for their boo-boo, they had Cain and Abel. After which Cain killed Abel and God told Cain to get out of dodge and sent Cain to the land of Nod. Now first of all, if the Garden of Eden was the first place where 'humans' lived, WHO in the heck lived in the land of Nod? And secondly, Cain supposedly found a wife in Nod. Really? If Eve was the only female, where did Cain's wife come from? And supposedly Adam and Eve had another son named Seth who also had a wife. Where did she come from? Now if God told Adam and Eve to go forth and "be fruitful and multiply"; where did these other 'females' come from? Were they from Satan's angels, aliens; where? Was it incest between Eve and her sons? Are we generations created by incest? I have asked Catholics, Lutherans, Protestants and even Jehovah's Witnesses and nobody has been able to give me an answer. So how was the population of Earth created with only 'one' original female, one spouse and two sons?

No one seemed to object when Venus and Mars got together. No one objected when Abraham married his half sister. Why should anyone object when Cain, Abel and company got together with their sisters or nieces? The narrative doesn't mention that because—I mean girls, who cares? My qualifications to answer? I'm ordained via internet in the Universal Life Church. I think that's what it was called.

Maybe that's why God came up with #7 and #10 of the Ten Commandments @msiduri .

I think this is the most logical answer.

@nanette64 Of course. After a while, you have to encourage the kids to look elsewhere so they don't slit each other's throats.

Adam and Eve had sons and daughters and they married one another and the population grew and spread to all parts of the earth. Genesis 5:4 Amplified Bible (AMP) 4 After he became the father of Seth, Adam lived eight hundred years and had other sons and daughters. Acts 17:26 Amplified Bible (AMP) 26 And He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their lands and territories.

@nanette64 We are all children of Adam and Eve and we are all brothers and sisters. What was appropriate and acceptable under early circumstances was later viewed differently by God and very close family marriages were no longer acceptable. (See Leviticus 18:6-17)

@1hopefulman It's comforting to know that God can make mistakes too.

I had the answer from the Catholic Priests, you never have to take "literally" what written in the Books. In the beginning they were the two chased from the Eden... nobody says that outside the Eden there were no human being living.

@nanette64 I liked to ask plenty of questions and they always had a reply. Most of the time their replies have not convinced me, but it is true that the ancient texts, if written "literally", word by word make no sense.

Maybe @Corbin5 is right and God just plopped a woman down when needed. The scary part though is that Satan had been banished from heaven by God and sent to Earth. So after Adam and Eve screwed up (eating of the fruit), it's a possibility that Satan's 'angels' were part of the procreation. And that would be the reason for the evil that filled humans after that @hostessman .
