A family-sized (whatever that means!) pack of Galaxy Minstrels fell into my supermarket trolley last weekend. It wasn't just the special offer price that caught my eye...
The slogan "Share and Enjoy" on this 232g bag of candy-coated chocolate buttons reminded me of one of the funniest, most incisively-written series of fiction books I have read, one of the best-produced BBC comedy radio series and a couple of cult-appreciated tv and film adaptations out there: Douglas Adams' 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'.
That same slogan is immortalized in this short clip, off YouTube - play it, listen and see if you can spot any similarities to corporate customer service functions you've had to deal with... not bad for a radio show from the early 1980s, eh?
