Typhoon Headed This Way?

It’s raining right now but we are supposed to get much more rain and wind with gusts up to fifty miles per hour (80.5 km/h). I even received an email from the electric company warning me that there might be outages.
Last November we had a wind storm with sustained wind speeds of fifty miles per hour with gusts up to eighty miles per hour (129 km/h). A lot of trees were blown over and a lot of roofs were damaged.
The news has been warning us that this windstorm coming in is not anything like that big storm we had a year ago. It’s really nothing new to the area. We usually have one of these storms a year. There is more concern about the rain. We are supposed to receive one and a half inches to two inches (1.8 to 5 cm) in one day.
That is an unusually high amount of rain for this area in that short of time frame.
The cause of this upcoming storm is due to a typhoon coming in from the Pacific Ocean. We are only going to get a very small part of it. The coast, Seattle basically, is going to get the worst of it. It’s supposed to snow in the mountains but not here where I live.
Now for a bit of music. I gave a link to this young lady, Paula Mensinger, singing Morning Has Broken, but it was her singing Carpenters songs that caught my attention.

We are having pretty much the same thing on the west side here 45 mph winds, 65 at the coast, with five days of rain predicted.

Yes, it would be great if we could change the weather.

@JamesHxstatic I just heard on the news that Portland was going to get hit hard. I hope your daughter is in a safe place. Sounds like you're going to het hit about as hard if not harder where you're at as we are here. Hopefully you won't have trees blown over or your roof damaged. Buckle down the hatches and stay safe.

@RichardMeister Do forecasters ever get it right? That's good the storm didn't turn out to be so bad over there. Here, we got some rain - well showers - overnight. It doesn't appear that we will get any more, but it's nice to see it damp outside for now.
It's amazing the girl would even be a fan of the Carpenters at her age/generation . . .well, I'm assuming she is a fan. But she does have a lovely voice to handle a song sung by Karen. I asked a friend who used to sing professionally if she still sang . . . she told me once a singer, always a singer . . . so hopefully that girl is still singing somewhere.

@much2say Yes, they do get it right every now and then with the help of computers. A lot of the time they are off on the timing, though. It rained here most the night and it supposed to rain most of the day today. Right now it's not raining but everything is wet and it is very cloudy with a slight breeze. No rain forecasted for tomorrow but it is supposed to be windy.
Yes, the girl talks about how when she asks people of her generation if they know who the Carpenters are she normally get "no," for an answer. Then when she asks someone of her mother's generation they say, "Are you kidding? Everyone knows who the Carpenters are." Yes, I think she is still singing, just too busy to put it up on YouTube. Did you check her out singing Morning Has Broken? (I put a link to that in another post.)

I really didn't turn out to be as bad here in the Spokane area as many were expecting. There was wind but not as heavy as expected. We did get about an inch of rain and it is forecasted to rain on and off through Tuesday. Then there is another rain storm coming in towards the end of the week.
Yes, she put on a show just singing Carpenters songs at state fairs, but lately she hasn't put up many YouTube videos. The only thing I don't like is the background noise. I did see a YouTube video of her singing for an entry into a college in southeastern Idaho. Another video said she was just back for a "mission" in Washington D.C. I found she is a member of the LDS church and I believe the "mission" had something to do with the church. So I figure she must be busy with college and church. In a video she did 3 years ago she said she was 18 so now she must be 21. In this video she must have been 17.
