Grumbles… why don’t people follow instructions instead of trusting SatNav?

Some people (or perhaps most?) just seem to prefer technology over human input. I recently had to meet an adviser at a place he didn’t know. I sent him the location and a map showing it marked. Then I waited. After I had waited quite a long time he called to explain he had got lost. I asked where he was and then explained that he needed to continue along the road until he reached a crossroads with a farm on the corner, turn left, then at the next junction turn right, and I would be waiting for him on the roadside. It would take five him minutes or less. Another 15 minutes passed and he still didn’t turn up, so I called back and found he thought he was lost again, so in the end I got in the car and went to look for him. There he was, stopped on the side of the road just past the crossroads. For some reason he hadn’t believed my simple ‘turn left, then right’ instructions. In that part of the country a post code covers a large area so the SatNav had been sending him round and round on the larger roads, and he ended up being an hour late! Why not just do as he was told?? All rights reserved. © Text and image copyright Fleur 2016.

They don't bother to listen because they think they don't need to, they have the technology instead!

Yes, why didn't he just listen to your simple explanations?
