I for the life of me could not come up with a good title for this post, so we will have to pretend like the one that I chose is great. Lol.
Anyway we were just talking about foreign people living in the city we currently live in. We have a mishap mash of Asian immigrants living here. Mainly becausr of the fishing trade. I asked the otjet half, who grew up here about friends in school AMD stuff and he said there was a few British, a lot of oriental but jot many others.
I grew up mainly in Oregon and we I had friends from several different parts of Asia, Korea, Mexico, Canada and even Zimbabwe.
I thought it would be interesting to find out about fellow mylotters and what accents there friends have and really see what a melting pot the US is.

I know people from Africa and Mexico. I love to talk to them and learn about their culture and hearing their ascents as well.

I'm originally from California. In the central and southern end are more Asian and Mexicans but there are a fast number of Indian buying and settling. There are also a lot of reservations with Native Indians. It really is a melting pot of nationalities and can be so interesting talking with them. At my office down there we have Philippine, Costa Rica, Spain, Mexico, England, Japan, Greek, and German. Up here in Oregon I haven't been out enough to see other than hispanic, Indian and well, so far that's all I've seen but know it's a huge diverse population especially in Portland.

@thislittlepennyearns I'm going to Portland Thursday to see my oncologist and going to use the time after to explore the city a bit more. It's very diverse from what I've seen with clothing and people. I'll pay more attention the nationalities. It's so interesting to see and I like hearing why they moved here.

@noni1959 I grew up in Portland. There are many many different nationalities there. Greek was one that surprised me. A lot of people from Saudi Arabia as well. I lived downtown for most of my teen years and encountered different races every day, which I thought was cool.

I have no foreign friends...mainly due to the fact I have no friends
At my work we have a lot of nationalities...Romanians, Latvians, Russians, Portuguese, Chileans, Bulgarians and a few I'm not sure of
They aren't friends but it's pretty good that I'm learning to swear/curse in numerous languages...in a kitchen there is a lot of cursing
PS...I'm from the UK which is maybe not as multicultural as the US but it is still a bit of a melting pot.

@Mike197602 While it might not be as big of a melting pot, its definitely a different kind of melting pot. Ive met someone from Hungary, but I don't think I have ever met anyone from Chile.
