Should you propose in private or in front of others?

What's more romantic, proposing in public in front of friends or family, or privately? The former case has the obvious drawback that your partner could feel under pressure.

Good question. I have two sons. One proposed in a restaurant and the other in private. It depends on the type of girl. My husband proposed in private. I would have been happy either way. By the way, each received a YES!

I assume people propose when they expect a yes, so chances are kind of high.

I would prefer it to be private. I'll tell the world when i want to...and how i want to.

I agree. The feeling is still the same.

I guess it depends on the person. My husband proposed in private, and that was fine for us. But doing it in public works well for some.

Proposing in private is better.

I want it to be private. I think it is more romantic.

I would say in private so that she doesn't feel like you put her on the spot.

I don't plan on proposing to anyone but if I did it'd be private. I'm not one for crowds or parties...plus if you get knocked back it's less embarrassing in private.
