"Pineapple" Jack O'Lanterns....

United States

I've been seeing on different sites where possibly pineapple is going to be the new Jack Lantern instead of the pumpkin!! Now, I think for most of us for Halloween, pumpkin is more accessible than pineapples. Some people even grow their own pumpkins for Halloween. I've seen different "Pineapple" Jack O'Lanterns, and I must say it would take a while to get use to it. However, you wouldn't have to cook the pineapple up, like you do the pumpkin!!! What do you think of a Pineapple Jack O'Lantern? ~Peace~ photo courtesy of link below: http://dish.allrecipes.com/tips-for-carving-a-scary-pineapple-jack-olantern/

You can cook the pumpkin AFTER you make a Jack O'Lantern out of it.

I've never cooked the pumpkin first. You scoop out the insides of the pumpkin, then carve the face. Later you can use the insides to cook for pumpkin pies.

Nice! I think this somehow looks more scary....the texture and shape help with it. I like it.

Seems odd, doesn't it? Maybe just because we're not used to it.
