Many have attacked Starbucks over the years due to unhealthy ingredients some claim are carcinogens. Not sure what really is a Pumpkin Pie Spice Latte from Starbucks? They are not hiding the ingredients, as these can now be found on their site. While many would never drink one of the beverages from Starbucks, some live for these drinks. No clue why here, as coffee and artificial drinks of any sort are not my choice. The evidence offered online about beverages from Starbucks is compelling. However, consumers typically choose many things daily that will not benefit their health. That does not mean their choices are being defended here, but people do what they do knowing the decisions could harm them. If you do drink beverages such as Starbucks Pumpkin Pie Spice Latte or any artificially flavored commercial drink, be aware of what the ingredients are-unless you don't care about your health. Many don't care. On the other hand, there are those who do care and feel they make enough 'healthy' choices daily that certain harmful beverages won't matter. If you are a Starbucks fan, no doubt negative reports won't matter too much. The video below explains that caramel coloring found in certain foods caused cancer in some laboratory studies.
The Pumpkin Spice Latte #PSL has become a staple of the fall season. Starbucks recently announced that the new PSL won't contain caramel food coloring. Some ...

@bunnybon7 Most people don't seem to realize once we get beyond a certain age, we are on the way out. Certainly not on the way in! We inhale toxins daily just by breathing, pumping gas and so on. Can't get away from everything.

Some also feel if they are eating mostly foods that are good for them, a little of the other won't do much!

I have never tried any of that stuff, never even been in a Starbucks. I am most likely the one person left in the USA that has not been to one.

Although we have been in Starbucks ONE TIME, we see no reason to do that with our money. Not much of a coffee fan anyway.

Oh! I used to dream enjoying a Starbucks coffee. It went on for years even if some friends tell me it's bad for me because I am hypertensive. Some were just too caring to tell me just to opt for a caramel flavor. So my dream continued. One day, out of the blue, my only son invited me to go somewhere. To my surprise, that somewhere is a Starbucks! Gosh! So, he ordered coffee for me (what flavor was that, I did not mind). Ha! Ha! Ha! But, it tasted so good esp so that it went well with a big slice of carrot cake! I started to love Starbucks more! Then, a report from a girl said her Starbucks (which she continued to sip on her way home) had a small rat on it.

I honestly never heard of this. I'm only rarely at Starbucks (there is one inside the Target I frequent), and when I'm there, I tend to get a simple iced coffee so I can sit and relax while waiting for my ride back home after shopping. After having dealt with cancer myself, I'm glad to learn this information because I certainly wouldn't want to learn, after drinking such a drink, that I could be at risk.

@PatZAnthony It's a sad state of affairs when we just don't know what to eat for fear something bad has been done to it.

Was it proven that there are ingredients in it that are carcinogen ? I guess the authority on Foods and Beverages should step in to further investigate about it , because it involves the health of people .

Many things are allowed in foods in the USA that are thought to be cancerous or unhealthy. No one is watching the store.

@PatZAnthony Maybe because the claims are not proven as true ?

I like plain coffee with a bit of latte (milk), because latte simply means "plain milk" in Italian, this is the only thing I put in my coffee.

I have only been in Starbucks one time and that was do conduct a mystery shop - no coffee involved in that shop. I only drink black (no sugar) - never used anything in my coffee or had a flavored coffee.

Mikia and I went together to check out a new one. It was my first visit and I had a coconut something-no coffee or tea or milk. Thought it was nice that they have such things to accommodate people like me.

@PatZAnthony The one I went to was inside Bass Pro in Kodak, TN and it was a lot of years ago - probably all totally different now.

I'll have to check that ot later when I find my earphones as everyone is in bed currently. But, I've known for several years that caramel in foods isn't a good thing and I've tried to stay away from lunch meats and ice creams that contain that, but I don't know that I remember it's a coloring that's harmful. My daughter took a nutrition class in college and she shared with me many of the things that are harmful in our foods along with the animal or bug by-products that are used to either color or flavor our foods as well.

On the rare occasion when I go to Starbucks, I drink black coffee or if feeling reckless might have a skinny latte. I prefer our local coffee roasters really.

I'm not a Starbucks fan mostly because I don't drink coffee. However, after viewing the video, it doesn't look like latte drinkers have anything to worry about from the pumpkin spice latte Starbucks is offering.

When I buy a coffee it's just coffee, black and hot. Never liked fancy coffees. Also don't go to Starbucks...so I have no idea. But I would think that carcinogens would not be in the drinks because of law suits...

I read the ingredients. I don't see what is so bad about them. Any way I like my coffee black mainly.
