I read a very interesting article today on dreaming. It is fascinating. During the REM stage of sleep is when people dream. A phenomenon which is known as REM atonia keeps the body in a state of paralysis during the dream cycle. This prevents the body from acting out the dream. Dreaming certain dreams is universal. This means that people from different countries who live in different cultures have the same type of common dreams. Such as being chased, flying or being naked. The blind do dream. Those who lost their sight before age five still have vivid and complex dreams. Their dreams usually have information from the other senses such as taste, hearing, smell, touch and sound. At least half of all people recall one instance of lucid dreaming. This is where they are aware of the dream even though they are sleeping. The dreamer can often direct and have control over their dream. Do you remember your dreams? Most people dream several times a night with each one lasting five to twenty minutes. About 95% of people forget their dreams immediately upon waking. Theory has it that the frontal lobe, the area where memory is kept, is inactive during the REM stage of sleep.

I do the same. Only time I remember my dreams is when I am sick enough to have a fever.

I am sure when asleep I am always on REM stage. But when I was young and still in the Philippines, I keep dreaming of beautiful ladies in the beach . . . I still keep dreaming of them even now that I live in Canada. So that means I brought along my Philippine culture here in Canada and it prevails over our Canadian culture.

It takes a while to get into REM sleep. Hard to change our cultures that are nearly inbred in us.

You could have a airway blockage. Might want to look into that. THere are methods you can use to remember your dreams.

A person has to get in the habit of going over the dream in their mind first thing when they wake up or they lose it.
