Gears of War 4 Finished

So my hubby and I finished playing Gears of War 4 last night. I feel like this installment of the series was much faster and may very well have been rushed. The story for the previous games were great and definitely made you emotionally invested into the game, events, and characters. That type of magic seemed to be lacking this time around. There wasn't enough time given to us to really become attached to the newer characters. I think that some parts could have been made better by adding more things. I am still curious as to how Anya, late wife of Marcus Fenix, passed. I am pretty sure the mother of one of the characters who you are supposed to find was going to be turned into a new queen for the Swarm and just the game makers could have done much more with the game. That twist at the end with the jewelry given to one of the main characters was really good. I just wish there was more. Have you played any of the Gears series? Did you play this new game? How do you feel about the games? Were you a little let down by the newest game?
