They Killed Food Lion!

I'm clearly being dramatic. Food Lion is a grocery store, one that had chain stores near us and in the neighboring towns. I wasn't aware until earlier this month that all of the food lions around us and in the neighboring towns have all shut down and been replaced! What I find kinda weird is that they were all replaced by the same store! So let's see we had about 4 food lions combined that I have been to. All 4 of those stores were turned into a Weis grocery store. It is just weird because I have never seen or heard of Weis and I have never seen a company take all of the same stores to turn it into their own. We have been in the Weis stores and they are great. They have fixed up the stores and it is nice inside. They even have mini shopping carts for kids, which my son adores. Their prices are nice and they sent us and everyone in the area who had a food lion card a Weis card. Makes me wonder if Giant will have anything similar happen to them, but I doubt it. I am hoping they just rehired the food lion employees. It would suck to have so many people laid off in a company change. Do you have a Weis or Food Lion Grocery store? Do you have a Giant? What are the grocery stores you have by you? Are they common in every state or do they pertain to your area solely? I had never seen a Giant, Food Lion, or Weis until I moved to Maryland.
