I want to start a new blog with a new subject. I can't seem to sign up a new blog on Blogger. Where do you blog? How easy is it and do you need a PhD to figure out how to do it? I know there are spots out there that I don't know about. I would appreciate any information you have.

I use the cliche blog sites, blogger and wordpress.. just for fun and to vent out thoughts that I can't put on facebook, or twitter or instagram, since my friends are there... I think the both blog sites are pretty easy to use, as long as you familiar with the idea of blogging and how to managed your blog thing. Just take your time to know and try all the features.

Blogger rejects every address I put in. I sort of gave up trying.

@ourlot I can't afford another IP. They are very limited here and the other company charges much more.

@akalinus really strange. Maybe you should try another IP, one completely disconnected from your commonly used IP.

I have a Ph.D. and I can't figure it out. I don't blog, unless what we do here is considered blogging.

Are you talking about WordPress? I don't feel quite as bad now.

Hi! I have a blog in Wordpress. I tried blogspot before but I like more the aesthetic quality of Wordpress. It is not easy. I remembered that I thought I could concentrate as fast as I could on my blog but I was wrong. I dealt with many technical difficulties. Thanks God, I have friends who helped me get through those problems in blogging.

@akalinus I am still confused. I think I also experience a problem in Blogger. I would like to comment but I couldn't. :( Anyway, I think it is all about the aesthetic that I chose Wordpress.

Technical difficulties and not knowing what I was doing is the main reason I stopped using WordPress. That and the fact that you have to have an account on WP to comment on any blog there. A lot of people don't have WP accounts so never see the blog.

I did not understand anything about WP. It was like a new concept in an unknown language.

@akalinus That's what I have to do, too. Start a blog ... see what all this social media marketing is all about.

@theBlock I learned it the hard way so I don't mind sharing. I had someone do a quick assessment of my blog and she really let me have it right between the eyes.

My advice is to blog about something you know a lot about, are passionate about, and are still learning new things about it. Niche blogs do very well. When you get the blog, make sure you have an attractive page that looks good on PC and mobile and make sure you put in links for Facebook, Twitter, and other social media so your readers can share. Make sure you publicize it but don't spam.

I have tried a few. I have one on BlogSpot but that's an old one which I rarely use any more. I also have WordPress. I find that really easy to use. For me, it has all the features I need but nothing too complicated. I also find it's easy to edit things on there.

I have two blogs there. Every time I try to sign up a new one, they won't take the address. I have tried all kinds of combinations.

It is a good spot. It is easy to use and you can put photos on it. I just wish they would let me start another blog.

I tried Wordpress a few years ago. Has it gotten any easier to understand and use? I actually did a blog. It got lost and I could never find it again.
