Childhood Memories: Juice Boxes

United States
October 27, 2016 1:59am CST
When I was a child - typically on Friday's my mom would pack me lunchables with a juice box! Usually I would get apple juice but sometimes capri sun punch. While grocery shopping yesterday at Sprouts, I came across this brand called Back to Nature packaged like capri sun & I had to get it! It was cute and reminded me of my childhood. It totally isn't the healthiest as you can see - it says 100% apple juice "but" there are added ingredients and other natural flavors. I would think this is a healthier alternative compared to soda though! I bought this for on the go since my boyfriend and I have been going to the lake lately to enjoy the scenery, & I bring this to drink. Do you have a childhood drink you used to drink often?

I drank a lot of Capri Suns as a kid, but I would never touch the stuff now. I've heard horror stories about not only how bad it is for you, but that also many of the pouches have mold growing inside them!

when we were kids there was the unique triangular sunkist juice box, the brick/square, then the foil like that one in your picture. softdrink was in bottles, then can, then plastic.

When I was a child, I didn't drink water. Most of the time I would drink soda water. Today it is different. I try to drink it less since it is not good for the health if I drink it so often. But I must say that I still like drinking it

@infatuatedbby I think the reason she use to buy it for us is it was so cheap and always on sale. She also use to make us Popsicles with it they we're so good.I still get the Orange Hi-C sometimes when I go to Mcdonald's for lunch or something.

We drank Koolaid when I was a kid. Juice was in a small glass at breakfast and no other time. I was so glad when I could stop buying those drink boxes for my kid's lunches. We never have juice any more around here.

We used to have Hi-C juice boxes and also Capri Sun. This was back before they were considered unhealthy, as nearly everything is now. Capri Sun was always such a pain to open, even though it looked so easy. Have they improved at all?

Childhood memories indeed bring joy when we think of them. I remember too the times when we would finished our gardening class in school and some friends and I would sit awhile at the public plaza enjoying a stick of flavored icepops before going home for lunch. Those were simple things but they bring joy to the heart when we remember the days then.

When we were kids we mostly drank water but when we were going on a road trip mom would always buy us grape pop as a treat. Every once in a while I will buy a bottle because it brings back so many childhood memories for me.
