What education pupils are having ?

I really stunned when I heard the wrong answers and some nil from the students for a question 'the statue of Liberty was built by which country?. Why the students are not being given the proper foundation in their elementary and school level? is the big question when I hear about the fee they collect from the parents for imparting the education. Parents pay heavy fee for the education of their children. The various institutions are collection various types of fees from the parents. But, they are not providing the basic education to the children. Is it because of carelessness on the part of the Management to check the progress and the quality of education? Are the managements not recruiting proper teachers who are devoted and duty-minded In India, there are many schools both private and Government run institutions. But the standards are very poor. How can we expect the standard from a student when the teacher does not have the required standard?
