Nervously waiting.. 40 minutes early to get my cavities filled!

I'm 40 minutes early for my dentist appointment because my mom is ahead of me.
I hate waiting... it just makes me more nervous. When it comes to dentist visits I like to be ON time, exactly a minute or so earlier.. That way, I'm not waiting too long!
I thought my appointment was going to be a hour, and I asked again - it's actually a hour and half! I hope the procedure goes by faster though!
And I have another appointment this week with a new doctor!
Do you get nervous when visiting the dentist or doctors?

I only get nervous at the doctor when he tells me to bend over so he can check my prostrate! LOL
Except one time, I had a very beautiful female doctor, and I didn't mind her checking!
But with you being a girl, I guess a prostate exam isn't something that would make you nervous! haha

@moffittjc hahah now you're not "sick" so often eh :)
I never had a male doctor, I only request females but I had a male doctor for an urgent care visit but all it was, was I bumped my head and it was swollen for a few days so my mom wanted me to go get it checked out

I have a lady doctor but I am meeting my new doctor this week.. I'm nervous because I am switching doctors due to my insurance change.
I hate change!
Do you have a male doctor right now? Or it varies.

@infatuatedbby I have a male doctor. He's been my doctor for the last 15 years. Great guy. But years ago I did have a young female doctor, straight out of college. Coincidentally, I was "sick" all the time when she was my doctor! LOL

I always feels nervous to see a dentist. I think due to some complicated and unexpected cases, the appointment may be delayed. This can be understanding. This is why I like to be the first patient when the dentist arranges the appointment. Such as early in the morning when the hospital opens

@infatuatedbby If so, perhaps it is better for you to exchange your turns

Haha.
My mom went first, then I went so I had to wait as I did not want to drive two cars.

Not really although I don't look forward to visiting both the doctor and the dentist. As fate would have it, I have to visit both this month. I'm getting my annual physical exam and then I'm getting my teeth filled in.
Fun times... N-O-T!!!

I hope the appointment goes well and smoothly! I actually look forward to going to the dentist
. For a while I didn't go for many, many years . . . and after all that hesitation on my part, I only had one minor cavity . . . and then it's been good ever since. I had all sorts of dental stuff done as a kid, and long time ago the process was worse, so I am more relaxed now knowing technology has made dental stuff more friendly. Also my dentist is a yappy yapper and has interesting things to say, so I can listen to her yapping while I sit and just open my mouth

@much2say You are the first I hear that likes going to the dentist/looks forward. Everyone I know dread it! My fillings went well though I am STILL NUMB. It is starting to wear but I still feel it and its been 6 hours already!
Since my mouth was 'full' and I couldn't talk my dentist and his assistant were yapping a little much as I had a headache afterwards...

@infatuatedbby The only reason why I don't dread it is because I know I will be relieved to have super clean teeth afterwards. Believe me, when I was a kid, I dreaded the dentist but usually because I had reason to!
Hope you are feeling better today! Yah, that numbness can last a while!!

@IvySaysHi The dentist was male but I was not nervous. I would feel nervous if my doctor was male so I only request females.

Not only do I intensity dislike going to the dentist (even though I actually do like my dentist) I hate waiting. Going to the dentist is stressful enough that you should go straight in & no waiting

I used to be...but since i have had braces put on ...and have to visit the dentist on a monthly basis....it feels more like routine ...i have had other work done on my teeth before too...cavity filling is quite painless. ...the teeth just get sensitive for a bit.

Ah yes - I had braces and when I did , I had monthly visits too.
The cavities were fine just the numbness was longer than I expected. I was numb for 6 hours and after that my mouth was sore, besides that everything went well.
