Lots Going on Here

The house we lived in for 15 years before moving here. Now rented out.

We've been very busy this past two months getting the house we used to live in ready to rent after 11-year tenants finally moved. That meant making one or two trips a week (about 9-10 hours round trip) to Ventura County, and we'd come home too tired to do much the next day. Our last trip last Saturday was to get the deposit from and give the keys to the new tenants after they had signed the lease. We like them very much. Now I'm trying to catch up with everything all those trips made me get behind on. It felt really good to take that "for rent" sign down. What have the rest of you been up to? Anyone else have properties to manage?

That's supposed to be the pic of your house right? It's beautiful.. ... And no... We here don't have any properties to manage

Yes, that's where we lived for 15 years and where we lived with our children.

The house looks lovely. I'm sure your tenants would feel very lucky to have got it for rent.

The house is just right for them. She is a teacher at the school three blocks away and she can walk to work. Her husband is a deputy sheriff and that should help keep the entire neighborhood safer.

My mom resisted learning to use her computer we bought her when she was in her early eighties. She mostly left it there so we could use it when we visited her. I've always admired the way you adjusted to learning new technology. So many your age just don't. I think using your computer has enriched your life and made it possible to go far beyond the walls of your retirement home.

That is a long way to drive every few days. No wonder you are pleased to see the house rented out again. I've been away for a while so I'm trying to catch up with friends here.
