In India, since Reliance Jio started its offer of lifetime free voice calls and Mobile data at cut throat prices, there has been a contentious game over the Interconnection charges and number of points- points where network changes.
This is because many huge numbers have taken Reliance Jio services and other players are also fearful of being overtaken by Reliance's aggressive pricing.
The issue has taken up a lot of bandwidth and is about to stay for some time.

Reliance is monopolising by offering initial free services. The Internet is good at some places and not so good at others.

@Tampa_girl7 Jio is a bundled Mobile Calls Plus Data Service by one of the India's biggest companies: Reliance Industries, offered through their newly formed company Reliance Jio Infocomm.
They are offering free calls plus data- first it was till 31 December, but has been extended till 31 March 2017.
Of course, why they are able to offer this is because they have deep pockets like Amazon has and they are in a way cross-subsidizing their offering with their profits from other ventures like Petrochemicals, Textiles, Retail, Chemicals etc.
They even have got notice from court in a case asking them how they can extend the free promotional offer beyond 90 days.
However, since this is a big and influential group, I do not think the court case would cut much ice.
