Election Day – it’s here and I’m in fear ...

Well, tonight is the night. In less than 24 hours we should know who won this worse-than-horrid election and what path our country will be taking for the next decade or more. I fear we’re in for a really bad time. Our country is hugely divided, perhaps beyond repair. The hatred and intolerance we’ve shown each other over the past 18-plus months are mind-boggling and unsettling. Never have I felt so hopeless and despondent about our country’s future. We the people are unhappy, we’re skeptical, we’re tired of lies and broken promises and we’re desperately in need of change, positive change. Our political system is corrupt and our government is even more corrupt. Depending on the results of this election, all may continue as is. After most previous elections, even when our favorite candidate lost, we pretty much accepted the results and moved on. Not this time. The effects of this election will linger for many years.
