Who, Where, When

Some thoughts have crossed my mind; and yes, I do have some of those occasionally, so don't laugh. Every new president that moves into the White House has renovations done to suit their style and taste. My question is: Who pays for these renovations? Is it out of the pocket of the president or do we (the common, broke folks) pay for it? Where will the Obama clan move to now? Do they have a secondary residence available? And did you know that Donald Trump will be 71-years old on 6/14/17? That makes him the oldest president in history. And when are we suppose to get his tax returns that he's promised?

I was discussing the age of Mr. Trump with my husband last evening. I told him he was the oldest President, he did not trust me.

@nanette64 I suspect he did not want to admit because Donald is only one month younger than he is.

It amazes me that two people of the ages of Donald and Hillary (70 and 69) have the drive and ambition to want to take on the biggest job in the world. I'm 51 and can barely summon up the enthusiasm to get to work every morning.

You can believe that the taxpayers are paying for the renovations.

I do believe it will be us, the people, paying for renovations. Doesn't that just make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? Not! We might have to wait till he wades through those 72 law suits he has pressing till we get to his tax returns. Also consider, he likes stamping his name on every and anything he can (whether he is the actual owner or not). America may not be America for long. Trumpville just doesn't sound right.

I don't think it's fair that the American people have to pay for the dang renovations @Namelesss . I'm sure Walmart is out of the question. LOL. And ya know, since he's supposedly worth millions, he shouldn't get the usual presidential salary. Trumpville; OMG, yeah, I could see that.

I hope no more government money would be spent there, anyway it's your government. We also have a 72-year-old President that's why he said he is not into money but to make the Philippines a better one for the Filipinos. He also did not like too much spending on furnishings for his home-office to save on government money. Though he has a "foul mouth" he meant business for the people (I hope so!)

My guess is the expenses will be charged to the government funds on the White House repairs and maintenance. Our elected President Duterte now 70 , is also the oldest amongst all the presidents that was elected for the Philippines .

i've read through the other responses 'n am a lil tickled 't yer reference to wallyworld furnishin's fer the white houses' new residents. do ya think that any'f the past presidents/wives 've shopped 't discount stores to redo the place? i can assure ya that if'n yer candidate would'a won, they'd not be shoppin' their neither. if'n ya got his tax returns, what'd that 'ccomplish? outside 'f the fact the he, like many others 'f wealth, 've really good accountants 'n we've really sucky tax laws? heck, the majority 'f the world already knows that. lol
