I mentioned that I joined Postcrossings.com in another post. But, I’ve been thinking about how I can use this connection.
It looks like some persons are collectors of special post cards and are looking for some very particular ones. I am not a collector but I will just enjoy whatever I receive and will share them with my grandchildren and great grandchildren.
I think they can learn some geography from this, if we take the time to look on the map and track where the cards come from. Since my great grandchildren are all home schooled, this might help them to learn about different countries, especially if we take time to read about each country, learn the capitols, and the languages spoken and other points of interest. AND I can expand my knowledge along with them.
I already have a huge map up on the wall in my office that shows all the places that I have been. Now I will need a special way to mark where the post cards are coming from.
I have already received several from friends on myLot, so I want to mark those places. I used "star" stickers for the places I've traveled to, so I think I will get some "smiley face” stickers to mark where the post cards are coming from. I can get them from the Dollar Tree.
This should be FUN and educational.

@IreneVincent We wandered around all over the place. We bought the motor-home in Ireland, went on the ferry to Cherbourg, to Bayoux, down to Availles-Limousine, to Paris, Freiburg, Vienna, Goslar, Leipzig, back into France to Roscoff then through England, Scotland, back to Ireland.

That would be great! We could do it here also. Just send me your address on a Private Message and I will send you a card. I would love to have a post card from Wales. Tell me about where you live.

@IreneVincent We are currently moving from Wales to a remote island in Orkney - it has a population of 130 people! We are leaving Wales in two weeks time! I would love to send you a post card from Orkney!
