Made another "cozy"

So, a bunch of years ago I posted this discussion. However, last winter we could not find the shawl, or cozy as the roomie calls it. So, after a cold winter last year when she wore mine, that is only one layer, she asked me to make her another one. Of course, since we have made it, you know it will now show up. However, this time we found some Doctor Who fabric and an even softer purple fleece for the inside. However, I killed the "emergency" sewing machine we bought last winter to finish up the Christmas presents we made for the roomie's nephew and family. So, yesterday, we went and looked for fleece, and I found the Doctor Who fleece and we bought a new sewing machine. It was kind of funny, actually, buying the machine. The lady said that she had basic sewing classes and her next one was Saturday morning. I assured her that I had the basics down. I had made clothes for a friend, but had refused to make anything with buttons or zippers. I told her that at first I had also refused to do darts, but had figured them out. So, today I unpacked the new sewing machine and brought the fabric inside from the car. And I made her the cozy. No, I don't have a picture, because it was starting to get dark by the time I had finished it. Then she brought me the curtain I had to hand stitch on Monday so we could pass inspection, but had been too long. We washed it and then I flipped up the hem and shortened it and, of course, now it is too short... Still I had that done and hung by the time she had supper in the oven. Almost - not quite - makes me want to sew something else... maybe...
You can see the kitties and barely spot some of the purple Yes, the head is intentionally cut off

Oh, that is definitely "cozy" looking. I may need to make a few of those myself as our blankets are always disappearing as well. I hope your roomie is enjoying hers!

Sometimes those emergency projects are the best ones. It is a practical item and I am sure it will be handy, even if you find the old one as well.
