Talking to Aliens - Having a nice bowl of Cheerios and banana slices in front of me this morning, I viewed an interesting article that someone posted onto the Internet - all about how to talk with interplanetary "aliens" that had unexpectedly arrived here on our planet. The aliens were said to have 7 limbs ("arms and legs" perhaps), but nothing was said about their way of talking or otherwise sounding off at us. The question, of course was "How do we talk with these "heptapod" people(?), and how do they talk with us? I may not be any sort of language or communications expert, but I have a suggestion to offer to anyone who wants a good answer to that question of "how do we and they talk with each other?" Ask a husband and/or a wife. They manage to communicate with each other even though both speak languages that the other scarcely understands. Success is guaranteed. * * * * * * * * * * Photograph from Pixabay dot com * * * * * * * * * *

@Sasquatchy - How did you ever get into Canada? I was told that there is nothing smelly there. Can't you just see the first sign we put on the pole? "No Trespassing." Are you just smelly or are you a real bona fide stinker? No matter - have fun today. -Gus-

@Sasquatchy - Hi again, Smelly. I knew a thing one time, way, way back in the days when things were all over the place. It is good that they are returning. Whenever you miss a thing, your life is never complete. There is an old saying that gets into that stuff - "Something or nothing." I think that is how that thing goes. It was not an odoriferous saying, but it has lasted over the years. -Gus-

Learning ASL (Alien Sign Language) maybe very complex for a biped if they have 7 arms/legs.

@topffer - Friend topffer - I hope that you are having a fun day today, Digger. Can you imagine a being with 7 "pods?" Well, we have 24 (usually) if we count all of the fingers and the toes, too. -Gus-

@Ceerios About half the population could stretch to 25 by that count...

Blinking. Perhaps communicating by batting their eyelids... unless each pod also bears an eye...!

Besides, they also need to have a brain.

@JudyEv - Ms Judy - If you want to confuse those aliens, you should turn them onto this Mill Otter place. -Gus-
