I strongly believe and respect culture according to the country you live like the saying 'when you are in Rome do as the Romans do' in fact it means culture but some children find it difficult to understand the concept. Girls in Muslim countries have a code of dress but some of them go against it and they make like miserable for them because they cannot move freely as the other girls who follow the code. They are happy and not self conscious.

We've got a culture here also...many muslims don't follow it

Mike I am a Malay Muslim from Sri Lanka, there the culture is different and we attire ourselves in the way we wish but now I am in Pakistan I strictly follow the culture the code of dress of a Islamic State. I am happy as a Muslim I am blessed to a Muslim country to live in peace and enjoy life.

yes people should respect each others' culture. if someone thinks that they are limited by their culture they should not find it is hindrance. they should think the positive side of being limited in the society. comparing it with the other cultures is not acceptable. because culture is a result of a longterm evolution process based on numerous facts including climate, social matter and so on. so people should protect their culture.

Every culture has its own concepts.. If you are a part of it you have to follow it ...otherwise simply move on
