Google saves the day

I was chatting in a game room on Facebook when someone said that she went to visit some place in Canada. The other person asked if she had visited her island. She replied that she had gone to that place with the red headed girl was from. "Nova Scotia?" the other person asked. "Yeah." And they both couldn't remember what the name of the red headed girl was. Well, I didn't have "a dog in that fight" so I went on Google and looked up "red headed girl from nova scotia." That came back with Anne of Green Gables. So, while they were saying that they couldn't remember the name, I typed it in. "You are so smart!" one said. "Google saves the day," I responded. Hey, at least I'm honest! (No, I have never read the book.)

I have read the book and seen the movie. If you want, the full movie is available on YouTube.

Honestly, I did try to read the book, but it wasn't my thing... Harry Potter is more my thing.

@LadyDuck But we've already discussed that I love science fiction/fantasy before. Yes, I have read other books, but I have to be prepared for what I'm going to read and have the time set aside for a book that isn't in my favorite genres...

That was pretty quick of you, I would have even known they were talking about a book.

I figured it was something like a book or movie because nothing else would be so well known that people would do "tourist" things about them.

Um, Anne of Green Gables is from Prince Edward Island. My husband is from there and many years we went to some museum or something of Anne of Green Gables. The whole family got dressed up as Anne and had a picture taken.

Well, L. M. Montgomery was from Prince Edward Island, and she based the town on New London, Prince Edward Island, but it was set in the fictional town of Bolingbroke, Nova Scotia.

Is there any answer that can't be found there! Great detective work on your behalf.
