I realize this particular "time" song might very well rank much higher with a lot of people, but it feels comfortable right here at #8 in my Favorite "Time" Songs series: Pink Floyd's classic, "Time." Pink Floyd formed in London in 1968. The band is legendary: members of the Hit Parade, UK Music, and Rock and Roll Halls of Fame, they have, according to Wikipedia, sold over 250 million records worldwide. (Fun Common Knowledge Fact: Pink Floyd helped finance the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail.) From the 1973 album The Dark Side of the Moon, "Time" is a classic song that, despite never having been released as a single, still receives the occasional spin on Classic Rock Radio. It is an integral part of Pink Floyd's catalog, and instantly recognizable due to it's opening, which features a bunch of clocks. (Fun Wikipedia Fact: Those clocks weren't meant for the album. Engineer Alan Parsons recorded them as a test.) "Time" was featured in a Pink Floyd themed episode of the TV show Cold Case, and was used, according to Wikipedia, in a Cantonese rerelease of Bruce Lee's movie The Big Boss.

You're right I'd put this at #6 or #7, but then Floyd had so many really good songs.

Definitely. It's not as if there is anything "wrong" with this song, there are just songs I listen to more.

I hear ya @teamfreak16 the reason I like it is because it hits home especially now that I'm 67.

This is a 70s rock classic and mainstay of classic rock radio.

@teamfreak16 We live in a world where Ariana Grande is artist of the year at the American Music Awards. Good grief.

@JohnRoberts - Some wise man once said "Every generation gets the music it deserves." And here we are.

And it doesn't sound like anything else on the radio. Unlike these days.

What the world needs is more pot with Pink Floyd. Maybe then they would stop being jerks to each other, at least for a little while anyway.

Pink Floyd and pot do work quite well with each other.

they used the clocks in much the same way as they used cash-tills on Money - clever effect

A couple of my favourite subjects, Floyd and Python Monty. Even Alan Parsons got a mention!

I like this one but I am not a big fan of pink Floyd and I just don`t know why, maybe when I first heard them on the radio I was in a weird place in life, some buried memories maybe.
