Ever wonder where the term "Black Friday" came from? The Philadelphia Police Department coined this phrase when describing the busy sidewalks, car accidents and traffic jams that caused so much chaos on the day after Thanksgiving. That was in 1966. Today the term is used for the time of the year when retailers begin to turning a profit. They are no longer "in the red". Did you know that since 2006 there have been 98 injuries and 7 deaths during Black Friday events.

Depends on whether you are into large crowds, idiots and customer service that sucks. If like those things then you might want to check it out.

@celticeagle Shopping on Black Friday really isn't as bad as people think. The stores are only slightly more crowded than they are on a typical Saturday afternoon to be honest.. but basically every employee is working and they have everything so organized that lines move faster than normal and you can actually get done pretty quickly.

no doubt. too much crazy this time of year and might be the worst ever this time because of the economy. instead of being selfish and mean people should start thinking of being kinder at this point.

Actually jobs are up a little. Or were recently. Mean and selfish should be outlawed.
