What is the best hair color for you?

Some we know enjoy various hair color changes each season. What is the best hair color to choose if you want a change? That is never easy to answer. It seems the younger ones here are having fun with blues, greens and purple. Why not? Some schools do not allow any color that is not considered a natural hair color. Are various colors allowed in the schools in your area? Have you ever found a product you thought was good to give a fun color?

Red is supposed to be one of the hardest colors to maintain from what we have read.

My favorite hair vcolour is a chocolate brown. Some time ago, when I had more hair, I liked to have some small rays of blonder colour.

@PatZAnthony I tried a darker one once, but I looked older. Then I tried a blonder one and it sort of turned reddish with the sun. So chocolate brown it was

I love my natural color, so I try to keep it. When my daughter was a junior in high school, she went to a vocational school where they didn't have rules against some hair color, so she dyed one half of her hair black and the other half red. Yeah, that was pretty interesting.

@PatZAnthony Oh, well she didn't stop there. She has had blue, pink, and silver hair as well. She hasn't been green yet...

It sounds like a fun thing a person might enjoy doing once or twice.

I'm happy being a blonde. Any color is fine with me except gray. Whatever color is chosen must go with your complexion.

Some don't realize that their complexion (undertones) should be considered.

Light auburn is the best color for me thus far, but I've also wanted to play with some blue and green and purple! What the heck! The grey is coming in fast and furious and I think a bit of color would do me good! lol

Just putting a few streaks of color might help you see if doing the entire head would be the right choice.

@PatZAnthony I think that, if I did an odd color like green or blue, I would just use it for streaks here and there rather than all over. I just want to have some fun with a little color (and shock my friends a little bit, too!) lol

I am older so no fun colors for my hair. However I am graying and so I have been dying my hair for years. I do Blond even though I am a natural brunette, I like the blond.

Many women like to add blonde to their hair as they get older and it looks good too.

I like stripes of burgundy on brown hair, but I think it's for younger people. My daughter looks good with striped highlights.

I'm blonde, born blonde and never changed it. I think any color is allowed in the public schools. Don't know about the private schools. My daughter in law is in the hair business and the colors are awesome, and she tries them all out.

I once wanted to have blonde hair. I used to have blonde streaks in my hair, when I was in my 20s. But it got expensive, when I moved to a new hair salon over here in Ohio. I don't know about hair colors and schools over here.

Getting some streaks at a school should not be too expensive-one would hope.

@PatZAnthony I hope you're right. I don't miss streaking my hair blonde, since I've past that phrase.

i have only ever tinted my hair...since it is black...any colour i apply only leaves a lovely tint in my hair and shows most only in light. I like the effect so i usually do it burgandy. I wish purple or blue was available here....any other lighter shade might not suit me.

I tried Navy Blue but it made my hair look darker than it was to begin with. It did not appear to be blue.

Since I'm not in the school age era any more, but seeing all the fluorescent colors people are wearing, my guess is yes, it's allowed in the schools. I prefer my original hair color. I have it done about every 8 weeks to keep me looking young.

There is quite a bit of coloured hair around here but I haven't seen too much on school kids. I'm not sure what the ruling is as I'm out of those circles now. :)

I really do not want to change my brown hair at all. I color it because I love to main that brownness and I hate white.
