For many decades Don Francisco has lead the telethon in my country inviting all sorts of international artists and celebrities.
Our telethon has been to raise funds to build hospitals and take care of people with physical disabilities.
The interest that this has arisen through out the years is so big that it has even helped change some buiding laws such as special toilets in public places and special ways to be able to use chairs in new buildings and sidewalks.
This year, Don Francisco, already retired from a show he had for all America including the Spanish speaking US, will lead again the telethon during the 2nd and 3rd of December

Yes he is. And he retired this year, but will still be in charge of his pet work, the telethon. It was his idea, so many decades ago, and grew with him.

My late mom who was a native of Panama admired his show.

We usually have telethons to build funds for the purchase of relief goods for victims of calamities and natural disasters. I think having an annual telethon is a good thing.

The first telethon Don Francisco leaded was in 1978. Since then, no matter how busy he has been he has come every year to be in charge. Each year, we have collected more than the previous year

@marguicha hopefully, he is able to continue this for a long time and when the time comes that he cannot continue anymore, someone else will step up and continue his good work.

@allen0187 I´m sure that telethons will not die here. We all know it is very important and there are no politics there.

All those laws here have much to do with what Don Francisco has done all these years. Before, people looked the other way where there was someone with a dissability.
