I used to always have a aloe vera plant in the house. It helps with burns and gastrointestinal disorders like indigestion and constipation. It is also a lovely plant. Well, I am finding now how much more aloe vera does for us. Here's a list: * High in vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C, E and folic acid. Also high in amino acids. * It can be drank to relieve heart burn. * Antibiotic, antibacterial, antiseptic and antiviral. Can't beat that! * Lowers the blood sugar levels......hello diabetics. * Helps with infections and inflammations of the skin. * Helps with pain in arthritis and rheumatism. Aloe vera has been used by humans for over 5,000 years. It has atleast 200 active components in it. (Vitamins, amino acids, minerals, enzymes, fatty acids and plysaccharides.) The Egyptians thought of aloe vera as the "plant of immortality."

i've 2 aloe vera plants here that get gently harvested from time to time. i've tried the juicin', but felt no benefits from such so gave't 'p 'fter 'bout 4 months. don't reckon i knew those folks thought 'f 'em 's such. i find the history 'f plants/trees from our ancestors globally to be most fascinatin'.

That's a shame that you saw no benefits. Maybe you just didn't need it.

Yes, aloe vera has many usages. In fact I wonder whether we can eat them since it seems to be so healthy

@celticeagle I don't know. I haven't tried it yet. Perhaps not many people tried it, too

I have a bottle of gel . . . mostly use it for burns, sunburns - and a facial toner - very soothing! I just bought a couple plants too . . . I figure the real deal would be much better than the bottled up stuff.
