The Tennessee Fires are Heartbreaking

As someone who has lived in California for decades, I have personally seen how destructive wildfires can be. I also have several nephews who are firefighters and one who is a Fire Captain with a major California city.
I'm so sad for all the people who were displaced, lost their homes, lost family members and seen their communities destroyed.
If anyone here on MyLot has been personally affected by those fires, you have my deepest condolences.

@LadyDuck - They should certainly have severe punishments for anyone who starts a fire. They are so dangerous ... and now 10 bodies have been found. This is so sad.

We have visited there many times. It is such a gorgeous place....very sad indeed.

@Tampa_girl7 - Yes, it is a beautiful part of the country. It must be devastating to the people who lost their homes and all their belongings. Many of them lived in little cabins and did not have fire insurance, I heard. Sad.

'tis always heart-breakin' when these occur, particularly those that're human caused - either intentionally 'r by oops. i'm also saddened by these fires's many 'f my ol' stompin' grounds 're nothin' but ash 'n remnants :( i feel fer the critters who suffered so 'n now've no winter stashes to tide 'em o'er. whilst the human factor 'tis severe, i jest can't help feelin' more sympathy fer the critters.
my dad t'was a firefighter fer o'er 35 years, battlin' many fires here'n the u.s.'n also abroad. i wonder what he'd be sayin' 'bout all the fires (there's been more'n jest those'n the gatlinburg area) that've scorched his home lands?
