The Power of Zinc

Just three days ago, I came down with a wicked nasty cold. Fever, aches, pains, chills, an incessant cough, you name it, I had it. It was time to break out the zinc. I popped 50mg of zinc with each meal. (You have to eat when you take it. Otherwise, you'll feel like you're going to throw up for a few hours.) Today, I feel great! Hardly any remnants of a cold at all. I highly recommend it!

"What are you doing, sir?" "Taking some zinc."

You got great results, but be super careful with zinc. The zinc-based medication Zicam caused permanent loss of the sense of smell for some unfortunate people. My go-to is lots of Vitamin C, which seems to put any cold I get through its paces with lightning speed. My last cold was incredibly mild and over in 5 days.

@teamfreak16 - I think it had more to do with putting it in your nose than taking it, period, so if you ingest supplements, it could be fine--just don't exceed the recommended dosage.
A new study offers new evidence linking zinc-containing nasal products to loss of sense of smell, researchers say.

Good to hear you're feeling a lot better. :) I never had Zinc when I'm sick or zinc pills in general - usually Vitamin C works for me.

It helps boost your immune system. Once you have the cold, it works wonders.

That's pretty amazing. I've read about its benefits a few times on here lately. It's great if you can find something that helps.
