This is a little long however, today being a Sunday you might want to give it a try.... This is an old happening that my maternal grandfather always talks about,an old story, in the days when an eating an ice cream in the restaurant used to cost much less. A young boy entered the erstwhile Gaylord Hotel ( in CP- New Delhi ) and sat at a table. A waiter put a glass of water in front of him. “How much is an ice cream with Chocolate syrup?” the young boy asked. “Seventeen Rupees” replied the waiter. The boy pulled his hand out of his pocket , took some time and studied the money he had. “Well, how much is a plain ice cream?” he said. “Fifteen Rupees” he brusquely replied. The little boy took some time and again counted his money. “I’ll have the plain ice cream,” he said. By now, more people were waiting for a table as this was a renowned restaurant in old days in the hub of the city CP . The waiter was also growing very impatient looking at the Que of sophisticated gentlemen standing and waiting for a table. He wanted to serve these people it seemed and not the boy who looked poor compared to people in Que and was lost in his own thoughts wanting only an Ice Cream. The waiter crossed by my grandfather's table grumbling " why do they allow such people to enter the restaurant ?". The waiter brought the ice cream, put the bill on the table and walked away rather rudely. The boy finished the ice cream, paid the bill and left. When the waiter came back, he looked at the bill and began to cry. As he wiped down the table, there placed neatly beside the empty dish were Seventeen rupees. You see, the young boy couldn’t have the Chocolate Syrup because he had save enough money to leave the waiter a tip. : ) All are lives we tend to be impatient . It has never been easy to be patient, but it's probably harder now than ever. In a world where messages and information can be sent across the world instantly, everything is available with only a few clicks of the mouse. We give up on things earlier than we should nowadys, Children giving up on their parents, Husbands and wives , Superiors and subordinates etc... Fortunately, patience is a virtue that can be cultivated and nurtured over time. It only takes a step at a time...

What a moving story! I feel bad for the boy. He's very thoughtful but he received a rude treatment just because he looked poor and had little money on his pocket. I'm glad this is just a fictional story or else I'm going to teach that waiter a lesson. Lol! Bless you little man, you're very generous! Good to know that most waiters or crews in my country aren't like that in the story. Or else I will report them to their manager. LOL
