Friendly Mice

Since I have three donkeys that not only require hay to eat, I also provide them with Oats and Sweet Feed. I have an additional mobile home in the back yard area that I keep all the feed in and every morning when I go to feed the donkeys, there is a conglomerate of mice in the Oats. I'm not sure if they are there to eat the oats or just to stay warm, but I have to have a conversation every morning before reaching in with a large bowl to scoop up some of the oats. Some of the mice will just skitter around inside the bag, while others will come up with the oats in the bowl. Then, there are some that I just have to reach in and cup with my hands for their removal. Silly, little things. They've never bitten me and every now and again when I cup one in my hands, they just sit there looking at me. So I'll pet the little booger and then gently set them back down. Oh yes, life can be strange at my place.

They obviously feel safe and secure in your presence. Hope you don't have any hunting cats around.

@nanette64 one thing I've been curious about. Do they poo in the hay the donkeys eat?

There are a couple roaming around @valmnz but with the mice staying pretty comfy in the building, I think they are safe.

Oh now that's just too cute (the mouse buddy) @crazyhorseladycx . If one ever gets into the house, I'm immediately notified by the 'crew' and have to run to its rescue and put him back outside.
