Were You Ever a Big Fan of Soap Operas?

I always loved to check out new "soaps" the minute they appeared. I think that I saw the very first episode of Ryan's Hope and then there was a Canadian soap that was half set in Germany and Quebec or was it Ontario? It's been a long time since either have been on air but I loved both of the shows... the Canadian one for obvious reason but Ryan's Hope because it was so different from the other soaps on TV. It's too bad that you can't buy entire series beginning with the first year. I know that I would like to start at the very beginning of some of my favorites!! Did you have a favorite?? How many can you remember over the years??

@JohnRoberts That's true but we never watched it. We were in the Royal Mews in London and the young man was desperate to know what happened to one of the characters - their sessions were behind ours. We had no idea but thinking back on it, we should have made up something.

@Hate2Iron I think it's the longest running one. I like it because it's a working class community not a bunch of rich people

I have never really been one to watch soap operas. I had a baby sitter when I was in Elementary school in like 1997 that watched Days of Our Lives without fail every day so I was probably the only seven year old who knew what was going on on that show- but other than that I try to stay away from them.
