Heavy Rain is in the Forecast For Tomorrow

United States

The southern states can really use the rain to put out the wildfires that are still burning. Several people have been killed in the Great Smoky Mountains. The worst thing is that the fires were set deliberately by someone, the officials have said more than once. Why would anyone do such a thing? Thousands of acres of forest have been destroyed also, but the loss of life is tragic. Some people were told to evacuate and some didn’t receive any warning. The fires just swept through and burned their homes to the ground while they were asleep. I’m glad it is raining there. And that these awful fires have been extinguished. It’s so SAD.

It is really sad to know that people set fire deliberately. Why? In olden days the people living in villages were doing this mischievous crimes only to take revenge or out of jealousy. But, even now they are doing such things means there is something wrong with the society we live in.

Yes, the world is suffering from many ills. It makes me think of the prophecies in the Bible which tell us that "in the last days, critical times hard to deal with will be here." 2 Timothy 3:1-5 Have you ever read the Bible?

We have a lot of new signs up in the area offering rewards if arsonists are identified and caught. It is a real headache for the authorities and difficult to catch these rogues.

Yes, catching arsonists is a real problem here also. I just don't understand WHY anyone would do that. Sometimes I think it could be what they are now calling "LONE-WOLF TERRORISTS." Persons who just want to cause trouble here in the USA and they don't care how many people die or who? It's a real problem. The world is in a mess, but it makes me think of the prophecies in the Bible about the "last days." Are you a Bible reader? 2 Timothy 3:1-5 says that "in the last days, critical times to deal with will be here."

@JudyEv I've actually heard of that before, that the fire-fighter could be the arsonists. That's really sick.

@IreneVincent Some of our arsonists are actually fire-fighters who like the kudos and publicity they get as heroes fighting fires.

Only a sick person would set a fire on purpose because they cause lots of damage.

Either someone really evil, or someone mentally ill. Or both.

It just doesn't make any sense why anyone would do such a horrible thing on purpose.

We need rain in California and get less than in your area.

Yes, I know that California has been in a drought condition now for several years. And there are usually many forest fires there also. I also read that water is being pumped from the underground aquifer and that is NOT a good thing at all. I've posted a couple articles about that on myLot.

I was just looking back through some comments on a few of my posts and found this one where you were telling us that California needed rain badly. That was back on December 6. You sure are getting some rain now and I'm glad for you. I just hope that it isn't too much rain all at once. Snow in the mountains too is way above normal, I heard. So when that starts to melt , there could actually be problems.

@IreneVincent California is catching up rain wise and a lot of the drought problem has been rectified. Not quite there but a vast improvement. Record snowfalls and most rain in a decade.
