Did Santa Put Candy Canes on Your Tree??

I honestly don't know how the tradition came to be... should ask mom now that I think about it!! But all through my childhood, we would wake on Christmas morning to find that Santa had left candy canes all over our tree. They weren't there on Christmas eve and it was so magical to see them hanging there the next day. If that wasn't magic for a child to find... I don't know what is. And yes, we ate everyone of them!! Were there candy canes on your tree??
