I know that I'm really bringing the Christmas spirit down with this series, Favorite "Dead" Songs. But what the heck, right? #9 in this countdown belongs to Type O Negative's "Everyone I Love is Dead." Type O Negative formed in 1989, and was active until vocalist and bassist Peter Steele died in 2010. They were often classified as a goth band (they weren't) due to their dark metal sound and Steele's gloomy outlook (although he also possessed a wicked sense of humor.) From the 1999 album, World Coming Down, "Everyone I Love is Dead" was released as a single, but I find no evidence of any chart action (not surprising, with a title like that.) According to Wikipedia, the lyrics on the album were very personal to Steele, so much so that after the World Coming Down tour, songs from the record were very rarely performed in concert. All I know is that I was lucky to see them. One of the loudest shows I've ever been to. R.I.P. Peter.
April 14 we lsot the greatest voice in Metal History :( R.I.P. Peter Steele, man you were such a badass. Keep rocking. Type O' NEgatives Everyone I Lvoe Is D...

You should hear their Christmas song "Red Water." Most depressing Christmas song ever. I love it.

I think I told you my two loudest concerts were Concrete Blonde opening for the BoDeans in Providence, RI; and -- are you ready for this -- Hall and Oates! This is definitely not a quiet song. BTW, I'm sensing a Smiths song in our future....hopefully a Warren Zevon song, too.....

They were a great band. They were wise to break up. Peter was irreplaceable.
