Starting this January I will be writing my dissertation for the doctoral program I am enrolled. The area of education that the program is about is Reading and literacy. The coursework for the program was, at least to me, very interesting and informative. This program was the one that related to my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction (Children's literature). For my dissertation I plan to write a theoretical idea all about using Gregg Shorthand to help students with encoding and decoding skills in the Language Arts. The project has to show new learning in some way and I thought why not take a subject that is obsolete and spin it in a new way. How many elementary teachers out there think this is a good idea? The professor for the internship course I just finished says that I have a good idea and when complete should be effective.

Thanks, but I think my research is going to be theoretical in nature, but who knows it just might make into a classroom. Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
