Broken Promise

When someone borrowed money from you and promised to pay at a certain time but failed to do so,how would you feel? Three months back,I lent money to a friend who needed a capital for her business. She promised to pay me installment in four months. I refused to give interest eventhough she suggested it. Unfortunately, she failed to pay as she promised. But she has posted new appliance on facebook.

I think the problem came about because you refused to take interest, you should have - even if it was very small. That would make the transaction more business like , otherwise she would fool herself into thinking that you don't really care to get it back.

This is so annoying, especially when you know they could have paid you back. I think that if you ever lend money you should have an expectation that you will never get it back, even if this person is someone you trust dearly. I really think that money issues bring out the worst in some people.

I would just ask her outright for the money. They do say that the easiest way to lose a friend is to lend them money - they'll avoid you from then on.

I have told her already in the first week of this month that I will need the money. She was supposed to pay installment from September.

Let the banks loan money, a real friend wouldn't ask you for a loan, keep pushing at getting it back....

Yeah, and I think she is also not really in dire need of money because I've seen on her facebook that she has thrown parties in her house.

May be you should send her a gentle reminder. It's better to convey things and know the reality than keep guessing the reason.

I never land money to friends, it's a sure way never to see them again.
