I've been squeaking all day. The squeaks are loud enough to wake the dead, or maybe just those who nap.
I'm not sure why these boots of mine chose to be squelchily squeaky today, but they are definitely making my presence felt, here in the workplace. Somebody observed that squeaky shoes mean that they were stolen.
*gasp*
They weren't. I think it's just because I've been wearing them for five or six years. I love these boots, but if they're going to get all squeaky on me I shall have to wave buh-bye to them.
In other news, I found a green, glittery, pipe-cleaner on a classroom floor and turned it into a Christmas tree. I've been wearing it on my little finger all afternoon.
So cute. And so much fun!

My hubby has a pair of squeaky shoes, he won't give them up though they are his fav shoes.

Squeaky shoes are, perhaps, not a bad thing at work, especially at this time of year, because they may prevent people's heads from nodding over their keyboards after a more festive lunch than usual.
The usual reason is that some of the stitching has loosened, allowing two surfaces to rub together as one walks. There's little one can do about it though, if you can identify the exact source, it is sometimes possible to carefully introduce a lubricant (some warmed goose fat or dripping is said to be good).

reminds me 'f a pair 'f new shoes i got one time back when i worked'n the 'real world'. first day out'n they were nice 'n comfy....'n quiet. by 'fternoon ya could here me comin' fer miles! i dunno where they come'p with that 'bout squeaky shoes? i paid a purty penny fer mine from a very reputable shoe store, lol.
