THE UNEXPECTED CHRISTMAS GIFT.

Is there a right and a wrong time to break up with one's boyfriend? Certainly, the Christmas holidays would seem like the wrong time -- but I did it anyway.
I remember that Christmas years ago when I decided to call it quits. You see after finally accepting that he wasn't going to change, I didn't want the new year to arrive and find us still together.
The breakup happened just about a week before Christmas day. Well, that Christmas Eve night I was browsing in the very expensive perfume section of a department store and feeling a bit sorry for myself.
Then I noticed a very handsome man at the counter obviously undecided about which perfume to purchase. He looked up and our eyes met, then he asked me if I would kindly assist him in choosing a perfume for his girlfriend.
I gladly obliged , he thanked me, then told the sales clerk that he wanted two bottles of the perfume gift wrapped separately.
A short time later I was about to exit the store when he approached me and gave me one of the gift wrapped perfumes. He smiled at the surprised look on my face, wished me a merry Christmas, then left.
The spirit of kindness and giving certainly abounds at Christmastime. Won't it be wonderful if that spirit stayed around throughout the year?
