THE SMILING SWINDLER.

He thought she was rich- had lots of money to spend; First, win her heart and she would be willing to lend. He was full of hype and oh, so vain! But she was smart and way ahead of his game. Told her his granny was desperately ill; It would make him happy if she paid the hospital bill. An ailing granny didn't exist; He had gambling debts which he hoped she would fix. He was looking for someone he could easily dupe; Had he been successful, there would be no hope of recoup. The address he gave was totally fake; No one knew where he lived - the liar, the rake. Luckily she wasn't taken by his charming smile; Those shifting eyes told her that he was a lie. He lives a life, always on the run; Some day he will pay for the wrongs he has done. A Kandase original

I've heard that story before. Someone tried to dupe me, and I didn't have any money to be duped. Great poem. There are so many men out there like that.

Nice story you have there . Actually that happens everywhere . Some people earns money by swindling people . And when caught they will deny . But they are already in prison .

@Kandae11 Yes, they shouldn't be deceived by good looks and glib of tongue . They should be so discerning and suspicious too .

Great poem and great story. People should be able to tell a difference between a faithful person and a gold digger

Great poem, well done. It amazes me that women still fall for these scams despite all the publicity. Glad the woman in the poem wasn't conned.
